Olive processor announces Gridley scouts are food drive winners

The olive company will donate almost 5,000 cans to food banks across the U. S. A Girl Scout troop from Gridley, Troop 70288, donated the highest percentage of food items to their local food bank, the Presbyterian Community Food Closet. In the spirit of giving, Girl and Boy Scout troops, Boys & Girls clubs, student councils and classes nationwide donated almost 15,000 pounds of food to food banks over the 2011 holiday season. As part of the program, Lindsay Olives pledged to donate one can of olives for each can purchased over the holiday season.
