Deni 7550 Digital Food Steamer | Kitchen Small Appliances
We had a Black & Decker single basket steamer w/rice basket and flavor basket, and used it 2-3 times a week for years. If you put in 3/4 cup of rice and 2 cups of water you are going to get rice soup – gross. I think it goes through more water than my Black & Decker did too – my husband checked it after steaming rice for 50 minutes and the basin was almost empty, and I had filled it knowing that I was steaming for a long time. Stick with 1-1/4 cups of water to 1 cup of rice. The rice bowl is too small, and the directions for steaming rice are WRONG. I would get a Black & Decker instead, and since I am starting to learn that multi-tasking appliances don’t seem to do anything well, I think I would buy another single-basket and rice bowl machine. It started leaking from the bottom so I decided to buy a new one, saw this one and thought “wow – what a great price and it can steam a lot of things at once”.
